Every after-sales app sells you fraud protection. The uncomfortable truth is that most of it protects the app from blame, not you from fraud.
The false positive that never leaves
An auto-blocked customer is not a fraudster — usually. They are a shopper whose address changed, whose payment bounced once, who returned a duplicate of a previous purchase. When a rule engine blocks them, the message they read is: your store just told me I am a thief. They will not come back.
So Eturns never auto-blocks. Fraud signals — velocity anomalies, address mismatches, duplicate evidence photos, promo abuse patterns — are flagged to the merchant with the reasoning attached. The merchant decides. The customer is never locked out by default.
Signals, not sentences
We take signals seriously. Repeat-photo detection across decisions, unusual velocity, conflicting evidence — these surface in the case timeline with severity scores. But a signal is an observation, not a verdict. The verdict is yours, and the customer-facing copy never accuses.
The merchant's brand should not be the place where trust is treated as guilty until proven otherwise. Ours isn't either.
